If you are new to Hyena Cart, it can be confusing figuring out how to buy, how to pay, and how to leave feedback.

What is Hyena Cart?
Hyena Cart is like a huge shopping mall.  Within, are many individual vendors, most of which are selling handmade goods (not all, though).  What might be confusing is that there are also "mini-malls", called a Congo, within the larger mall.  A Congo is a group of sellers who have joined together for a common purpose.  When purchasing items from a Congo, you must pay for each item individually, as each seller has their own Paypal account.

How do I buy something?
Before you can purchase, you need to have an account. So if you haven't already created one, do that first.  An account not only lets you purchase, it allows you to "Spot" items (bookmark them for future viewing), keep track of favorite sellers, keep track of your purchases, and leave feedback for past purchases (VERY important).

If I put it in my cart, can I take it out again?
It depends on the type of listing.  If the button that shows in the listing says "Add to Cart", you can add it, and later remove it if you change your mind.   If the button says "Buy Now", then clicking means you are committed to purchasing the item.  Sellers use this listing option for items that are in high demand, and therefore at risk for overselling.

Can I buy more than one thing at a time?
Again, the answer is, it depends.  This time on the type of store the seller has.  If it's a congo (many sellers in one store front), each item must be paid for individually.  If you purchase multiple items from a single seller, they will usually combine shipping if you send them an email with the order numbers you want to combine.  Purchases from multiple sellers cannot be combined since they are in different locations.

If it's a single seller, it still depends on the type of store.  A single seller can have a 'standard' cart, where all items are listed in a main table, or a "multi" cart, where items can be divided into categories.  Multi can be confusing to recognize, because a seller can choose to list all items in table form (my cart is set this way), but there are still category options on the side.

For a 'standard' cart, each item must be purchased individually.  For a 'multi' cart, you can put multiple items in your cart and check out all at once.  Remember though, clicking 'buy now' is a committment to purchase, whereas "add to cart" can be changed.

How do I leave feedback?
Feedback is the lifeblood for an online seller.  It should be honest, and unemotional.  If you have an issue with your order, please contact the seller first to work out a solution before jumping in with negative feedback.

When you are logged in to your account, you can click on "My HC" to find all sorts of options.  One of them is "My Purchases".  Here you will find a list of your purchases, and next to each will be a link to "Leave Feedback".  Simply follow the link and fill in the boxes.

A little vocabulary:
Like any system, Hyena Cart has a vocabulary of it's own, and you can feel a little lost if you don't speak the language.

Hyena's-shoppers and/or sellers on Hyena Cart.

Stocking-When a seller lists new items for sale in their store.  There is usually a 'go live' date, and for some sellers, items are gone almost as soon as they go live.

Stalking-what hyenas do when they want an in-demand item.  You must be quick on the 'buy now' button, and often, Hyenas will have friends stalking with them to help them get the intened prey, err item.

Spot-to mark an item for future purchase for youself, or to bring it to the attention of the other Hyenas.

Stocking Calender-A page that allows you to see which sellers are adding new items and when.  A great way to check out new sellers.  You can click on 'Today's listings' to see all items that go live today.

Wahm-Work at home mom.  Variations are wahd and wahp (dad and parent).  Some restrict this to mean people who handmake the items they sell, others expand it to include all moms or dads who are doing any business from home.

I'm sure there's more that I'm missing, but that will get you started in being able to speak to the natives.

What are forums?
Hyena Cart has online forums where Hyenas can chat about their favorite wahm made goods, show off recent purchases, request items, talk about parenting issues, and just chat in general.  You will need to create a log-in for the forums if you wish to use them.

I hope that helps you navigate the new world of Hyena Cart a little easier.

If you have any questions, please contact me using the "contact seller" button in the menues.
