Important note on bamboo fabrics: the FTC has decided that bamboo fabrics are now to be labelled and called rayon or rayon made from bamboo.  They claim that the fabrics made from the bamboo plants do not retain their anti-microbial properties either, however all rayons have anti-microbial properties therefore even if the bamboo has to be called rayon now it does still have this property....not sure what I believe and I am personally researching this claim with my fabric manufacturer so I can maintain my claim as an environmentally-friendly-baby-item-making-mama. Here is a link from a company manufacturing bamboo fabrics that explains the process a little better and actually compares the process to the process of making other fabrics...personally I still believe bamboo fabrics are considerably less harmful than fabrics made from plants that are grown with pesticides, and the fact that bamboo is a more renewable source for sustainable fabrics makes it environmentally-friendly in that sense....but for you as the consumer it is up to you to decide what is resonable for you and your children...here is a rather helpful link

 

All of my products (excluding the leg warmers, knee protectors, diaper covers, and outer layer of printed diapers) are made from partly organic fabrics.  All partly organic items are made from a bamboo viscose/organic cotton blend fabric (jersey, fleece, terry, and velour). Bamboo is 2-4 times more absorbant than cotton, and has anti-microbial properties, making it the best fabric for cloth diapering needs.  Because of the nature of chemical and natural dyes, the choices on your item colours are limited.  Both chemical and natural dyes contain substances that are not in keeping my organic promises and are not used in my products unless you are purchasing a printed diaper, diaper cover, or leg warmer/knee pad set. The bamboo derived fabrics I use to make all my items is velvety soft and luxurious feeling on the skin, making it perfect for baby wear.

 

My bamboo viscose jersey fabric also has 5% spandex to allow for an incredible stretch that makes my swaddling cloths fit just right and snugly on your baby.

 

My other bamboo viscose products may have up to 2% polyester to hold them together beautifully, the poly is only on the back side of the velour and terry and will not be touching your baby, it is nigh unto impossible to find a bamboo viscose velour without poly due to the nature of the fabric, the poly is there to hold it together. Almost any bamboo viscose fabric on the market will have a small amount of poly in it to hold it together.

 

Velour= 70% viscose from bamboo, 28% organic cotton, 2% polyester backing

Fleece= 70% viscose from bamboo, 30% organic cotton

Jersey= 70% viscose from bamboo, 25% organic cotton, 5% spandex

Terry= 70% viscose from bamboo, 28% organic cotton, 2% polester backing
