Did include a kind-fold (aka prefold), probably as compensation.
I really don't like leaving negative feedback but I felt that the lack of communication and the inability to follow one's own policy shows unprofessionalism. I can understand that she is a busy mother of 5 and works only at night and might take just a wee bit longer to email back or ship my order, but I find it totally unacceptable when she stocked for Black Friday, but couldn't take 5 minutes to answer one of the two emails I sent prior to then.

Not the diaper I purchased...isn't completely the same as pictured/described. Outer appears to be the correct color, but inner is purple and feels/looks more like cotton velour instead of natural BV. And the dye job on the inner is a bit splotchy.

Wouldn't know...claimed was oversold. Was replaced with Mistletoe fitted (as chosen by me). Mistletoe appears to be as pictured/described.

Here is what happened...
In November this started and I was asking her questions about what I could get and everything. It was ages after she said she could do what I wanted and she had never gotten my diapers done This started around November 17th. On the 29th of November I sent another email asking how long it would be until my diapers were done. She responds and says this....I am working as fast as possible to get all orders out by Sat am. We didn't expect so many orders, its great just working hard!
After weeks more of waiting and NO word from her I sent another email to her about my diapers and on the 31st of December this was her reply....Hi Laura, There was/is a delay in your order. I had thought I emailed you. (having my oldest and dh home for a whole week has made me lose my mind) The delay was because we sold out of the vroom vroom and the PRR trains. I do have many more fabrics that are not on the website gallery. I will add a 7th prefold since this was my oversight. We have many of the Heather ross prints, the dogs, horses, russian dolls. Also many of the uniqe Michael miller and alexander henry prints.
Again, I apologize and hope the extra prefold will make up for it..

Now in over 6 weeks WHY had she not emailed me to tell me she had sold the fabrics out?
SO I responded and told her I was upset with her business dealings and I KNEW I was not the only momma she had done like this so again on the 31st she sent this email.....As a customer myself I do understand your hesitancy and I am sorry. As soon as you pick replacement fabrics I will mail them out ASAP. Here is the link to the fabrics we have been able to list so far, several are out of stock. We are waiting for our web mama to take them off the gallery. however she is out of town for another week. Again, I do have the HTF fabrics also. So this went on and she then said I owed additional fees etc
Here was my response on the 2nd about that The last I heard from you prior to these emails, my order was ready to ship. I sent you payment through pay pal and you never sent me anything for any additional fees. If you did when you respond to this please include a copy of any invoice sent with the date etc on it. How were my orders ready to send originally if there were to be more fees? I am a bit confused.

Now how were my diapers ready to ship if I owed for them and she had never asked for additional fees. Also in the beginning back in Nov I have about 3 emails where I asked her if I owed her more. She never ever responded to them. I have ALL MY emails if you all need to see them to verify I am telling the truth.
On the 3rd this was her response...Well, sometimes I mail pkgs to certain customers even if they have not paid in full. I just mail out and await payment and have not yet had a customer that was not able to pay, I have even taken payments. You did pay the initial custom order price and the shipping. So I would have gone by that and just shipped. There is no way I could sell 6 bamboo prefolds for $9.50. Do you still want the order?
Then on the 3rd of Jan at 9:44 am I sent her this....I am a bit confused. I am not trying to upset you but first you said you sent me an invoice. I haven't gotten another invoice. I have excellent feedback, so it isn't that I do not want to pay it is just that your story has not added up all along. Last night you said you sent me an invoice. Now your saying that you were going to mail it out even if it hasn't been paid. I am just a bit confused, sorry.

FINALLY just to get this over with I told her to PP me for the total she felt I owed her
I had trouble with my original PP account. Once you get to a certain amount you have to be verified and that takes a few days so I set up another PP account and told her to send the invoice to that one. Then this is where more emails started....
This was sent on the 7th

After much thought and consideration about this, I have decided to contact and get advice from my lawyer on this matter. You have successfully drug this out so long I can now not file with pay pal. Your 1 free diaper is NOT compensation for as long as I have been waiting on diapers that are supposed to be finished. I have forwarded him ALL the emails that you have sent me from the beginning. I am expecting you to fix this or I am going to have to have my attorney to take action. I want you to know I am not the type to just contact a lawyer. I have one that I have used for business purposes for years. This is a last resort for me but we had a contract,which you have broke and refuse to fix.

Customer service:After 3 days I contacted KHW to inquire about choices for the diaper inner. I was told that there had been a mistake and I had NOT won, that HC had choosen two winners. I was offered a different product and was told it would take several weeks to receive the item. I responded and told KHW that I would not hold them to the lottery and that I forfeited any possible winnings. After all it's not their fault that HC messed up the lottery. I asked for a refund of my shipping costs. I was told that was no problem and I would receive an immediate refund. That was Dec. 21st. I never received the refund. I contacted KHW again later in January to inquire again about the shipping refund. I received no reply. It's not a lot of money, but I feel that I deserve my shipping money back as I told them not to send me anything.

I contacted Leslie on Dec 14 to tell her that I still haven't received the diaper I ordered a month and a half ago. (In the meantime I ordered another diaper from her and even though it was a custom, it had already arrived.) She told me she had maybe mislabelled the package and will look into it. No other response after that.
On Dec 30 I contacted her again, asking if she remembered when the diaper was shipped since I still hadn't received it after 2 months. She said she would check the delivery confirmation and that maybe my package slipped under the van seats when her husband was taking it to the post office. Again no other contact after that.
On Jan 1 I contacted again and asked if she had checked the delivery confirmation. She replied on Jan 3 and said she found my package and two others in her van and would mail it priority the next day. I thanked her and sent her the shipping address.
Yesterday Leslie sent me another e-mail saying she found her notebook and the note "shipped at the PO" for my order. She said she maybe sent me a wrong package (??? - I suppose that would explain the same package being shipped to Europe and sitting in her van at the same time?).
So right now I have no idea what to think. Was my package even sent? Obviously not, since she said she found it in her van. Was another package sent? I have no idea, I haven't received it after more than 2 months and I don't see the point if I receive one that is not the one that I ordered.
I have to admit I made both of my orders before reading feedback here and I don't intend doing the same mistake again (ordering before reading feedback). Because if I had read it, I don't think I would have made any of the orders. (Although I do really like the one diaper that I managed to get.)
I feel really bad for leaving this feedback because all of the feedback I've left until now was positive and I've bought a lot of stuff from HC. I will update this if something changes.

The quality of the bamboo velour is the best I have seen. It is the easiest material I have ever pinned. The pins glide through. The material has a great deal of stretch so I should have sized down. The contruction was very nice. A beautiful prefold. Highly absorbent because I asked for bkt in the hidden panel. |

It's almost impossible to get a hold of Leslie. My package was delayed at customs, and I tried to get a hold of someone to make sure it was sent and it took 5 or 6 emails over a period of a week, and eventually emailing Leslie's partner before Leslie finally responded. Once the diapers finally arrived, one of the snaps immediately broke - this is before it was ever washed or tried on. I wasn't even going to send it back because it would take forever and it was one of the snap-down rise snaps which wasn't really necessary for us, I just wanted to let her know but she never got back to me.
Almost immediately after posting my concerns on a Diaperswappers thread, Leslie emailed back asking if I ever received the product. I responded, forwarding my previous email to her. She still hasn't gotten back to me and it's been nearly a week.
Oh, and I must add, one of the diapers I purchased wasn't actually in stock and she replaced it with a different type of diaper in the same fabric without asking if that was alright first. She did offer a $5 discount for future purchases, but since I won't be purchasing there again, that is pretty useless. If she had let me know prior to shipping the items, that would have been totally fine by me. Again, poor communication.
Product review:
The diapers function fine. As I stated above, one of the snaps broke off just after they arrived to me. Though the diapers are well sewn, the pattern for the diapers wasn't very well thought out. The snap-down rise doesn't function properly, since when the rise is snapped down, you can't use the soaker in the diaper (it's way too long). Using the diaper without the soaker is totally pointless since the soaker gives the majority of the absorbancy. Really scratching my head about this one.
UPDATE January 2/2007:
Leslie posted on a Diaperswappers thread regarding KHW customer service and informed me that she tried to email me, but it's obvious it didn't get through due to her ISP. (Whether we choose to believe her or not, is clearly our own decision). She also offered me a refund, to fix the diaper, or a new diaper... I'm not going to take her up on the offer, because the diaper still functions fine without the snap and that's not something I ever wanted. I just wanted a response, which now I have. |

I ordered these three diapers on September 11. On September 12, I received an email asking for specifications on the custom diaper and stating that the diaper would be shipped in 2-4 weeks. I responded that very day.
The two in-stock diapers arrived, but after four weeks went by with no custom diaper and not a single update, I emailed to ask for an update. I received no reply, so I emailed again a week later.
I received an email stating that my diaper had been delayed because of a family emergency/health problem and would be mailed within two days. However, according to the timeline in the email, the emergency happened after the four week mark had passed, so it shouldn't have affected my order. Still, I tried to be patient and understanding, so I waited.
A week and a half went by with no sign of the diaper, so I emailed asking for a Delivery Confirmation number. Two weeks went by with no response, so I emailed again. A week after that email, three weeks since the diaper was supposed to have been shipped, I received an email that did not give me the DC but instead said that she would look into it.
Another two more weeks went by with no update and no diaper, so I emailed asking for a DC or a refund. When that email was also ignored, I filed a complaint with PayPal and am awaiting a refund. It has been over 11 weeks since I ordered the diaper.
Update: A couple days after posting this, I was contacted by the WAHM. She gave me the Delivery Confirmation for the in-stock diapers and tried to claim it was the DC for the custom diaper. When I called her on it, she sent me my refund.

I can't comment on the custom work because I never received my custom diaper. However, I wasn't impressed with the quality of the two in-stock diapers I ordered. One had serging that was coming unstitched. The other was listed as a second because of elastic that was "slightly tighter than usual," yet the elastic is so tight that it is drastically smaller than normal, making it more like a doll diaper. |

Upon ordering, received an email asking specifics of what fabric, color of snaps, etc... The email stated that custom turnaround was 3-4 weeks.
I emailed my info and didn't hear anything back for a while. I received that diaper in the middle of July. It was the wrong fabric. So I contacted Leslie and she offered me either a refund or an exchange. I initially wanted a refund, so emailed Leslie back and sent the diaper back. I received an email on August 8 that she had gotten the returned diaper and wanted to know what pp address to send the refund to. I promptly emailed her back the info.
I didn't hear or receive any refund. Then I got an email on August 19, apologizing that she was behind on stuff and asking me again if I wanted a refund or a remake. I told her I'd actually like a remake instead b/c I was having twins and could really use the diaper. She said no problem and offered to make 2 diapers! So I emailed her the fabrics I wanted. I got an email on September 4 that they would be shipping that week. Some of my emails had gone to her spam folder, so I emailed her back to make sure she got the right info and my mailing address. I received another email on September 17 that both diapers were shipping out that day. I finally received that diapers on September 26. All of the emails with Leslie were very courteous and she apologized for having missed some of my emails due to a spam filter.

Details of transaction:
I had 9 diapers that needed elastic fixed. I sent them to Leslie Bush of Kindhearted Women and paid her in advance. She received them on February 3, 2007(per her e-mail). After a couple of months, I e-mailed her to find out the status of the repairs. She said she had family difficulties and that the wrong elastic had been ordered, so she had to re-order, etc. OK, more waiting.
June 8th, I sent another e-mail asking for an estimated shipping time. Received a reply on June 17th, saying she would mail them Monday priority shipping. On June 30th, I received 6 large FBs that were not mine. I e-mailed her that day. Next day, she apologized and said she switched the labels on the two packages by accident. On July 5th, she sent me the money to mail the other ladies diapers back.
Frankly, at this point, I was scared if I mailed them right away, the other lady could potentially keep my diapers and have her own as well. Also, it had been FIVE months at that point. I decided to wait to mail the diapers until I received mine(Bad choice--hindsights 20/20). Within a couple of weeks, I received one of my diapers that Leslie forgot to put in the original package(thank goodness I got one back!). Still didn't get the ones from the other lady.
I sent an e-mail or two a couple of weeks before that when Leslie was out of town, she responded when she returned mid-July. I then sent her e-mails about once a week during August that received no response. I asked her for the other lady's e-mail address or some way of contacting the other lady so we could sort it through without having to use Leslie as a go-between since maybe 2/3 to 3/4 of the time Leslie doesn't respond to e-mails(I didn't say that part in the e-mail).
Finally, with no responses at all from Leslie since July 24th, I decided to do the right thing and send the other lady her diapers and hope for the best. I didn't have a lot of hope for my diapers honestly. I mailed the lady her diapers on August 17th(included my e-mail address in a letter I sent with it). The lady e-mailed me the day she received them. She had used my diapers and then sold them. She said she had not received any answers from her e-mails to Leslie, and didn't know what else to do. She asked me what I thought needed to be done to make things right. I told her I thought my diapers were worth $80 and she could paypal me. I didn't hear from her for a week, so I e-mailed Leslie telling her what had happened and that Leslie should pay me for the diapers if the other lady didn't respond and it was Leslie's error that caused all this. Well that got Leslie's attention. Leslie told me that the other lady sold my dipes and she should pay me. Leslie also e-mailed the other lady and I heard back from the lady that day or the next.
The lady agreed to paypal me $65 for my diapers(her original offer was $50 and I was just glad to get anything). I feel like my 8 EUC diapers(4 petite FB, 1 medium FB, 3 large swaddlebees) were worth $80(I base this on the ones being sold on diaperswappers). They had no stains and once the elastic was fixed, they were in excellent condition. Leslie did not answer either of my e-mails asking her to pay me the $15 difference(2 e-mails were sent, one week apart). |

My third child was born a preemie and spent 11 weeks in the NICU. When she came home she had chronic diarrhea. The diaper rash was so bad that she bled. We tried EVERY lotion, cream powder in the book. Some made it worse, nothing helped. After about 4 mos of total misery we came across Tracey's claymazing powder! What a godsend!!! W/in a week the rash had gone and my daughter was almost completely healed! Essentially the way it works is that it keeps the diaper area dry and at a healthy pH and allows the area to heal or if there's no rash it prevents one from starting by keeping the skin healthy. We just went thru a bout of rotavirus and claymazing stopped the rash from starting!! I don't know where we would be w/out this stuff! Truly (CL) AYMAZING!!!! Don't settle for imitations (we tried some when KHW was closed for awhile and it was totally ineffective)! This formula has been tested and found to be the most effective for fighting rashes! |

I have had horrible dandruff and itchy scalp for years. My mom has it too. I always remember her using head and shoulders when I was younger. The condition has gotten worse as I have grown older. I used to use selsen blue medicated but some years ago I came to the realization that those chemicals can't be good so I stopped using it. Since then I have tried what feels like EVERYTHING. I tried no poo I tried herbs I tried every "health food store" poo I can think of. Nothing worked and I was still left with a horrible flaky mess.
One day I was shopping on Hyena Cart and was looking through Kindhearted women's shop and what did I see? Scalp Rescue Shampoo. I was hesitant at first as I am broke and it seemed like a lot of $$. But after doing some research and reading some reviews, I decided it was worth a shot. Tracey mailed my poo right away and I tore the package open and in the 'get fresh' I went. I am AMAZED at the results of this shampoo. I just bought a bottle for my friend who also suffers from this condition. Mine was so bad that you can SEE the flakes. There was no hiding them. Now, It's only been a week and I can't believe how good my hair looks and I'm not constantly scratching my scalp... oooh the relief!
So, for anyone who suffers from pretty bad dandruff and has given up finding a healthy alternative to medicated products, you MUST try this. The poo is very thick and should last a while. A little bit goes a long way. |
