A small group of UK nappy fans purchased a custom wardrobe slot for six outfits from Lindsay, via PM/email. Full payment was made in July, and instructions given as to what everybody wanted.
Then we waited.
And waited.
And waited......
We requested photographs of work in progress, but very few were supplied. The camera battery was always dead, or she was on her way out, or she would do it later and nothing arrived. We were requested to reconfirm our wishes regarding shirt styles following the alleged breakdown of Lindsay's serger, because she had forgotten/mislaid our instructions.
We were finally told that the order was shipped in October. We were told that we should wait 4-6 weeks, indicating that Lindsay had shipped 'surface' mail to the UK rather than shelling out the little extra for Airmail, which after all the delays and excuses was unacceptable to me.
So we waited.
And waited.
Four weeks after the alleged shipping date someone asked Lindsay to supply proof of shipping. She said she couldn't find it. Several days later, I asked her to provide proof of shipping. She told me that US postal offices don't supply proof of shipping for overseas packages.
We waited some more.
Two photos were emailed to me - one of a lone pair of longies in the correct specifications, one of a top that was in the fabric I'd requested, but in the wrong style, which may or may have not been one that was made for me. We have never, despite repeated requests, received photographs of all the items ordered, or even of outfits photographed shirt and pants together.
The occasion for which I had ordered the outfit came and went.
I waited some more.
Six weeks after alleged shipping, I requested a full refund. I discovered that it's a requirement under federal law to offer a refund for goods bought online if there is a delay of more than 30 days from payment to shipping. It was under threat of legal action that Lindsay agreed to refund/remake outfits as required. She toild me that she would make 'staged' repayments over a period of 14 days, by which time refunds would be complete. She agreed to remake for three co-op'ers, and refund three co-op'ers.
We waited.
And waited some more.
No staged payments were made. Several promises came, and went unfulfilled. Meanwhile Lindsay stocked at Icrave, offering free for shipping interlock longies, whilst telling me that she didn't sell enough to refund my money.
I finally received a refund, half on day 13, half on day 14. I believe the other two refunds were made on days 14 and 15.
The experience has not only put me off ever participating in a co-op again, but has put me off ever ordering from a WAHM again. I expended an awful lot of energy, time and frustration just getting what I was legally entitled to, with no firm evidence ever supplied that the order was completed or shipped. I was hugely looking forward to getting a Rainbow Waters outfit, and was extremely disappointed - not only to never receive the outfit, but to be treated with such a consummate lack of professionalism by such a revered WAHM. | | Product review: | Unable to review product, never received. | | 2008-12-14 04:41:05 | | Seller response: | The original person I spoke with during this transaction was a customer named Shadow.
All correspondences were made with Shadow, until 10/29/08, and than I spoke directly with Shadow & Beth.
There is no doubt this transaction turned out to be a pain for both the customer and the WAHM.
Payment was made 7/25/2008 and I recieved everyone in the orders choices on that date as well besides one participant which I recieved on 8/9/2008. I had just endured an ectopic pregnancy, and I ended up taking on a bit more than I could chew, a lot more than I could chew. I made a mistake and it did take me awhile to complete this order. I sent pictures except for 3 items in which I packaged up to get out.
The order shipped via USPS International on Oct 8, 2008. It was shipped airmail. 6 weeks went by and package did not arrive. Its now Nov 16. So I offered to refund those who wanted a refund and replace those who wanted a replacement. I told them I was already out $350 in products, airmail shipping, so if anyone wanted a refund I would refund by Dec 2nd, and before if I could. The pants listed on icrave were totally FREE for a black friday stocking and leftovers from a co op I was doing. I did not have time work on items to list in the store due to having customs I needed to get done as well (I did not want anymore upset customers). I did not recieve any funds for those icrave pants beyond $2.50 for shipping, and they both costed around $2.50 to ship. On Dec 1st, I recieved a payment and I sent Beth 50% of her refund as she requested. On Dec 2nd, I sent Beth the 2nd part of her refund as planned. Her refund was sent on the day I told her it would. In addition to the other 2 people who wanted a refund recieving refunds on Dec 2nd as well. None of the refunds were delayed, they were sent on the date promised, DECEMBER 2, 2008.
The replacement products were made and sent on Nov 26, 2008 and were sent Priority International (I paid $35.85 just in shipping for these packages because I wanted them to arrive within 10 days/as fast as possible). The replacement packages were recieved on Dec 8, 2008. There was a mixup, I ended up sending the wrong package to 2 of the memebers, and they worked this out. Everyone was very happy with their replacements and excited for the transaction to be over. Shadow was a pleasure to work with, she was understanding through all of this and its more than I could ever ask in a customer. I feel bad she had to be put in the middle of this transaction.
A few other points I would like to make about this buyers feedback:
1. We were requested to reconfirm our wishes regarding shirt styles following the alleged breakdown of Lindsay's serger, because she had forgotten/mislaid our instructions.
I have no idea what Beth is talking about at all. I cant even comment on this because I have no idea what shes talking about. On the other hand, my serger breaks once every 3-6 months, so I do have proof of reciept of having to fix it if a customer would like to see that. Regarding reconfirming their shirt styles, I have no idea what she is talking about at all.
2. Four weeks after the alleged shipping date someone asked Lindsay to supply proof of shipping. She said she couldn't find it. Several days later, I asked her to provide proof of shipping. She told me that US postal offices don't supply proof of shipping for overseas packages
I never said USPS does not provide proof for international packages, not once. I said that USPS provides a reciept with a customs number on it. I said USPS does not provide TRACKING for international packages. I said I had throw out the reciept, which is why I replaced and refunded the purchase after the original package was not recieved, I knew because I had thrown out the reciept, I have obgliation to do that. I am now out $350 original product, original shipping, $145 in replacement products, $205 in refunds and $35.85 of replacement shipping for a total of over $500.

It is not the sellers responsibility to pay for shipping above what I was paid for. The $350 total included a $9.80 US Flat Rate Box. This was a UK order, I did not ask for extra shipping on. I can assure you I paid over $9.80 for the first package as well.
There are a few other incorrect parts of this feedback however I have covered most of them in this response.
There is no doubt mistakes were made on my part for this transactions. I shouldnt have taken on so much work so that I wasnt able to get it done timely, and I am sorry for that and apologized numerous times for this. I should have not thrown away a $350 orders shipping notice (sadly I do this often expected the package to just arrive, lesson learned) so that I would have had proof of shipping and could have tracked down the original package instead of refunding $205, replacing $145 in product and lastly $35.85 in priority shipping.
On the other hand, this buyers way was to completely threaten me and treated me poorly. I responded to her professionally, but on the other hand I will not tolerate slander, and maybe that is where she assumed I was not professional at all.
This transaction definitely was a lesson learned for me.

On Oct. 24 I contacted her again, as there were still no pants here, and she replied that international mail can take 4-6 weeks.
The package arrived today, and now I can see she didn't ship until Oct. 17th, right after my first message. It took 10 days (a normal amount of time) to get to Canada.
Lindsay should have been honest and said she'd forgotten to mail the pants, instead of blaming the post office. And she overstated their cost on the customs sticker by $5, which is not nice, as I can be charged tax based on that higher amount.
Overall, bad customer service.

the pants had an uneven dyejob. I checked these pants over thoroughly before
they left my home, in addition to taking pictures of them. The dyejob was
not uneven. Here is one pic:

mentioned the measurements she gave me were well over what her son measured.
It almost seemed as if she was complaining about the dyejob to make it my
fault so she could exchange the pants for a smaller size, since she gave me
wrong measurements. I asked her if she could list the pants for sale, and
with the funds from the sale, Id be happy to make her another pair of pants.
She sold the pants immediately on spots corner, and sent funds for the 2nd
pair of pants which she asked for in a different color & several inches
smaller in size. She sent payment for her second pair on Aug 30th. She let
me know she was leaving to move to Canada On Sep 10th, and I told her I
would do my all to get them to her within that timeframe, but I was not able
to, I needed my normal turnaround time, so I emailed her and let her know.
On Sep 23rd (3 weeks from the time she paid, my normal turnaround is
3-4weeks) I sent the pants to Canada. She recieved them 1 week later, and
wrote the above feedback without emailing me or sending pictures. The pants
do not have splotches. I emailed her letting her know I blacklisted her from
my store as she was not easy to please (I have NEVER had to do this), and I
also told her, she could send the pants back for a full refund and gave her
my address to do so. I have not recieved an email as of yet in reply (It is
Oct 5), and I have not seen the pants listed for sale, so right now I have
done my part, and Im waiting for her.
I also wanted to add, I did have delays and those were my fault despite the
issues in my life, but I feel I have done everything to make this customer

Order was placed on 7/31/07, on 8/9/07, I emailed and inquired about the status of my order because I had yet to receive it. On 8/12/07, I received an email from Lindsay saying that she never received notification that I had placed the order and offered to send an entire yard to make up the difference, and would be sending over an invoice for the original half yard's shipping "asap" so she could mail this tomorrow (Monday, the 13th).
As of today (8/15/07), I have not heard back from Lindsay - I emailed her again this morning and asked for my money back or that I would be disputing this with Paypal. Still nothing from her as of right now - I escalated the issue to paypal this evening.
Update (8/20/07):
After filing the claim with Paypal, I did hear from Lindsay later that evening through PM's here. She refunded my payment and told me that she was going to ship out the fabric anyway. I received it today and it's very pretty. I appreciate her correcting the situation.

My experience with Lindsay was awsome!!! I emailed her on super short notice, asking if she had the time to make my dd a shirt. I needed it FAST though, to announce my pregnancy. She said no problem, and had it to me in lightning fast speed. I was so thrilled with her communication and turn around time. She kept me up to date on the progress and showed me pictures along the way to make sure it's what I had envisioned. Lindsay is an absolute doll to work with, and I am excited to get a set for my baby boy from her soon!!!

After Paypal chargeback filed received email from seller 7/21 stating items were sent "five weeks ago or more", which would mean that she shipped them before I ordered them
Seller posted in Paypal dispute 7/30 claiming to have 'just noticed' the claim and said she would work out solution with buyer
I escalated claim 8/8
Claim closed 8/14 in my favour, however no money was refunded to me.

I emailed this customer on the 7/20 after she sent me an email on 7/19 explaining to her than the product had been sent and we should wait it out a bit more.
By 7/22 I recieved no response, so I emailed another time saying this to make sure she had recieved the first one

Than on 7/30 after again no response from customer, I noticed she had filed a claim on the 21st so posted to the complaint, telling her when I shipped the item and if they hadnt arrived by Aug 8th, we would work something out. Again no response.
I than found this review so emailed on 8/17 explaining if she hadnt recieved the item yet I would be happy to refund but explained that I have no PP in my account and my account is a CC so I needed to find a way to get money into my account but I gauranteed she would recieve her money shortly and explained to her that my friend Jen (from my My Boho Baby) had offered to replace her pockets.
I havent recieved any contact from customer since. I am really trying to work this situation out completely so please email me as Id like to make this right. |

I was dissapointed overall with customer service. Communication was poor...email response was slow and sometimes it took more than one attempt by me to get a reply. I only received updates when I emailed to check on status. I never received either set that I ordered.
The set I ordered on March 5 was originally delayed by a mishap in the wash before it shipped. No problem. Lindsay was great, offered a complete custom, to ship at a discount or to redo the set. I asked about the extent of the damage and she offered to send photos. Then the batteries were dead in her camera so the pics were delayed. After a week, and no further word, I emailed about the pictures. She replied that she had decided to redo the set and was waiting for some dye to arrive. The date is now Apr 7 (one month after I ordered). On May 5, I ordered the second set.
By mid June, I had heard no word and neither set had arrived. I emailed (twice) and Lindsay told me that the March set was almost finished and would ship by the end of next week. I then wrote to verify she was holding the second set to ship with this one (I had assumed that when it didn't arrive). According to Lindsay, the set shipped on May 9 (4 days after I ordered). It never arrived. She also told me the March set would ship that Monday Jun 19. Fast forward to the last week in July. I still have not received either set and I email once again. The set apparently shipped a week later so the 26th? It still has not arrived.
To be fair, Lindsay was very friendly and she has expressed concern over our postal problems. She offered to look into this further and figure out a way to resolve things. I haven't heard back since. That was July 23.
So dissapointed! I am unlikely to reorder.

*UPDATE* Lindsay has since contacted me and we were able to resolve this matter. Turns out it may have been a case of faulty mailers and miscommunications. She has offered a full refund. As has been the case from the beginning, Lindsay has been very friendly and professional in her emails. I'm very relieved to have this cleared up!! |
