About MeMy name is Joanna, I wanted to start a small business to try to help pay for my cloth diapering habits. After much trial and error I was able to make a high demand product that people loved and bought. Unfortunately the business soon became far more than I could handle. Trying to tone down a thriving business was really hard. I found my self spending less and less time with my family, and more time sewing.
After trying for over two years to have another baby, I found myself pregnant in late September 2008. Also I was battling sever skin issues with my daughter. She wasn't sleeping, her skin was scratched so much it bleed, and she was miserable in every way. We tirelessly tried everything to try to help her but all of our efforts failed. Our final attempt was to test her for food allergies. In October 2008 we discovered that she had allergies to nuts and eggs. We were able to cut these foods out of her diet and solve all her skin issues. After solving this issue, we started to have Ella tested for other things. The doctor felt that Ella might be having some developmental delays. We started to get Ella tested and found she only had a speech delay. Sadly in mid November I lost my pregnancy, and I decided to take a sudden break from my business. Our family needed to heal, and the only thing I could think of was to cut as much stress out of my life as possible.
We are all doing very well. Ella very rarely gets eczema and her food allergies are under control. She is in speech therapy and occupational therapy, and she is doing very well. It was hard to loose a baby, but we are moving past it, and trying really hard to get pregnant again.
I just can't handle the stress of starting up a cloth diapering business again, so I am putting my web design knowledge to use. I want to try to help other WAHM's make there businesses the best it can be. I know how hard it can be to get started. All the little things that you have to learn can be very stressful, and annoying. I am hoping to lessen the burden on all those wonderful WAHM's that work so hard to bring us wonderful homemade treasures. |
