Hosting four vivacious mamas, The Merchant Ship offers a variety of hand-made items for the cloth-diapering, environmentally-conscious family! Our business is based on the virtuous woman, as described in Proverbs 31:14, saying, "She is like a merchant ship bringing her food from afar."
This chapter of the Bible goes on to describe "her" as a hard-working, God and family-serving, strong, wise, and kind-hearted woman. She fears little and goes at life with all of her might, taking on tasks that will bring joy and comfort to others. We can only strive to be these things to our God, our families, and of course, our customers!
We hope you enjoy what we have to offer, and may every person that passes through our shop go on to have a blessed and Spirit-filled day!
My name is Kari. I've been blessed with a wonderful husband and 4 wonderful children - 2 girls, 2 boys. I teach dance and gymnastics at a local YMCA and homeschool my two oldest children. In my spare time I love to crochet and sew.
My name is Valerie and I am a stay at home mom to my two little blessings, Jacob & Emma. I'm also married to my best friend, Mike.
I started crocheting when Jacob was only 1 month old. My husband got a job promotion and relocated to Tennesse, leaving me and Jacob behind so I could finish up my semester at school. We rented out our condo and I moved into my Nanny's house with Jacob. This is where I learned to crochet. My Nanny showed me a few simple stitches. From there I taught myself all new kinds of stitches and how to read patterns :) I've been obsessed ever since.
Crocheting is almost like an escape from reality for me. I love creating new things and working with lots of awesome people.
My Story
I
had chronic yeast infections for about 10 years. The last 2-3 years (of
the 10), I would get a yeast infection every 4-6 weeks. In the summer
of 2007, I was doing some research on the internet and stumbled upon
mama cloth. I made some for myself with my first, very crude, pattern.
I have only had one yeast infection since switching to mama cloth!! I
have improved my pattern, and I am excited about sharing my mama cloth
with you!!

My name is Sabrina! I am happily married to my husband, Mark for the last nine years. He
is currently pursuing his lifelong dream of being a musician. He has followed a calling
and as hard as it may be, he travels a lot of the time. He and his band have gotten many
teenagers and adults alike saved...if you confess with your mouth - Jesus is Lord - and
believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
I am also a mother of 3. Isaac (7), Caleb (6) and Alyvia (2). They are my life, my world,
and my inspiration. Lyv Naturally came from Alyvia and she is who has inspired me to live
a greener life.
As if it is not hard enough to be a wife and a mother, I am also a teacher at a Charter
school. I recently graduated with my Master's Degree and love to learn how to be a better
teacher.
My business started out of the need to find a greener and cheaper solution to my swiffer
wet jet, hence my crocheted mop pads. My items revolve around greener alternatives that
will also give you a long term savings. I stand behind all of my work and I thank you for
supporting a WOHM.
Hi there! My name is Rebekah, a stay-at-home mom, who is dedicated to God and family.
My wonderful husband and I are working hard to raise our two little ones and one
not-so-little one. Being the “domestic engineer” of our family is the most challenging,
yet rewarding job I’ve ever had!
Stewie’s came about by no design of mine, and I give all the credit to God. I was new to
cloth diapers, and thought I might dye some up just for fun. I noticed that lots of mamas
were into dyed dipes, so I started dyeing up a few to sell.
One color led to another, and I found myself selling dyed clothing as well! Eventually,
I would like to branch out and stock all sorts of items that help families to be a
good “steward” of their money. Good stewardship is the namesake of my business and
something for which I continually strive!
Thanks so much for taking a look; if you'd like to see more, check out "My Gallery" here on HC, or you can find a full gallery here. I hope you find some colorful cloth or dyed-up duds
that tickle your fancy!
