Nine feet of shimmering silk, hand-dyed in the turquoise, blues and purples of our Borealis colorway. This silk is 45" x 108", 5 mm Habotai silk with rolled hems.
So what exactly do you do with a silk this large? Many things! It is a perfect size to use as a playstand canopy, drape it over two wooden playstands to make a cozy house, fort, store, theatre or just a quiet place to sit and read - anything your child can imagine. These silks also make gorgeous wall tapestries, and I have dyed one for a curtain valence for the window in my daughters' room.
These items have been hand-dyed and washed however we recommend you
wash each item separately prior to use. Due to the delicate nature of this silk, we recommend you hand wash with cold water, or on delicate cycle in a lingerie bag, and air dry. The flow of the dye and the lay
of the fabric make each silk one of a
kind, so the silk you receive may be slightly different than the one
pictured.
