The shirt is a Sustainable Edition 100% certified organic cotton lap T, MADE IN THE USA
by American Apparel. Befitting the earth friendly theme is a tree full
of budding green leaves and the phrase, "go green". Each leaf in the
tree has been stitched down twice, with the edges intentionally left
raw so that it would fray, over time.
The soaker is a new design of mine, a hybrid of techniques
which yields a workhorse of a soaker. The top and waistband
was made using traditional stockinette stitch and 2x2 ribbing for
ultimate stretch and comfort. For maximum protection and absorbancy,
tunisian knit stitch was used throughout the soaker's "wet zone". This
particular stitch uses 2-3 times as much yarn as traditional
stockinette stitch, and I promise you this soaker will stand up to the
heaviest of soakers and even compression wicking which can occure in
baby carriers and car seats. I used Wooly Wonders by Nada BFL dyed in their "Bugs" colorway.
