Brrrrrrr... I woke to a blustery, rain soaked, smokey grey October morning. (And proceeded to sing "Early morning rain" by Gordon Lightfoot all day) No different than so many other fall mornings really, except that 'my' tree had turned brilliant yellow overnight! Only Monday, the tree outside the bedroom was still mostly green though all the other maples had lost their leaves already. And today? Miraculously golden.. Though the morning was dark, this gorgeous light shone through the window for a few hours and picked me up from fuzzy grey. Sipping coffee, I pulled out my darning needle and started a little embroidery thinking of the beauty of the morning colours together. These cozy vests are the perfect thing to keep little ones warm through the colder months while keeping arms free for exploring. The body and binding are made of charcoal grey, 100% organic wool interlock. The embroidery is all done by hand using soft Malabrigo laceweight wool. I used scraps of handdyed wool for the flying leaves. The vest in the photos is sized to fit a 12month old but was designed with longevity in mind and should fit considerably longer. Measurements are as follows:Chest width: 11 1/2 inchesBack length: 12 inchesFront length: 9 3/4 inchesIf you're interested in a different size, please drop me a line!
