Care Instructions
For Woolies:
For all wool items, wash by hand with your favorite wool wash with lanolin (you may wish to lanolize separately). Be sure NOT to run water directly on the wool as this may cause felting. Lay flat to dry.
For Diapers: When you first get your diapers it is best to wash a few times before you use them. This will get out any natural oils in the fabrics and make your diapers more absorbent. It make take several washes to get your diapers to their full absorbancy potential.
Wash no more than 12 diapers at a time when possible. You may use another method, but the one that works best for us is to first do a cold rinse. Then a hot wash using about 1/2 the amount of detergent you would for a normal clothing wash. I like to run through one more cold rinse to be sure that all detergent has been rinsed out properly. Dry on med setting or hang to dry.
If your diapers begin to develop a smell or you think there may be some build up of detergent in them, it maybe time to strip. To strip your diapers, I recommend using a squirt of Dawn dish washing liquid in place of your detergent. Also an extra rinse may be necessary.
