Sizes Newborn to 12 Months

Another versatile pattern from Fishsticks Designs: The Little One Layette offers four patterns for a complete wardrobe for the newest member of your family. In sizes from newborn to 12 months, all pieces are sewn with cotton or cotton blend knit fabrics.

The Jamie Jumper is a full-length romper, designed with short- or long-sleeves, that snaps up one side. The laptee which can also be sewn with short- or long-sleeves makes for quick and easy changes when pulling on and off over those sweet newborn heads. The gown in sizes NB and 0-3 months has the same neckline as the laptee and is perfect for easy diaper-changing during those early months. The simple pants are designed with plenty of room in the bum for cloth diapers and the seamless back makes them perfect for embroidery!

Cotton knits and cotton blend knits

Fabrics & Notions:
Jamie Jumper
1 yard of cotton or cotton blend knit fabric plus ¼ yard of cotton or cotton blend interlock or ribbed knit for trim. (Jerseys can be used for trim, but snaps will need to be reinforced.) Size 14 or 16 metal snaps are recommended. Size 14 or 16 resin snaps may be used, but they should be reinforced with woven fabric or stabilizer behind each individual snap to prevent them from pulling through the knit fabric.

Lap Tee/Gown
½ (3/4 yard for gown) yard of cotton or cotton blend knit fabric plus ¼ yard of cotton or cotton blend interlock or ribbed knit for neckline and cuffs. (Jerseys can be used for neckline, but they tend to be less stretchy or not hold their shape as well.)

Pants
½ yard of cotton or cotton blend knit fabric. ½ yard of ½” elastic.

Please note that for paper conservation, pattern pieces may overlap and will need to be traced onto pattern-tracing paper, dressmakers' paper or a similar material.
