If you love beautiful wool yarn colorways as much as I do, you've probably wondered what it would take to dye up your own beautiful, hand-painted yarn. Perhaps you've even already dreamed up some amazing color combinations that you'd like to try.
The Burgh Baby Gear Learn to Dye Wool Yarn Kit is especially designed to teach beginners how to use professional acid dyes and mix them to create endless color combinations. Instructions for dyeing with food-grade dyes are also included in the tutorial.
Kit includes:
- 5 Jaquard Acid Dyes (Yellow Sun, Sky Blue, Crimson, Jet Black, and Brown) - 1/2 ounce each
- 20-page dyeing tutorial (adapted from my book, Knitting Wool Diaper Covers from Start to Finish.
- 15-page "Yummy Yarn Recipes" pamphet, including instructions for dyeing 7 distinct colorways using the included dyes, plus information and techniques on creating your own colorways. (Note - The original "9-pages" quoted in this listing was an error. It is 15 pages :) )
- Full-color sheet from Jacquard products, with general instructions for using the dyes and the pictures of the full spectrum of colors that are available for purchase.
In addition to this kit, some wool yarn, your microwave, water, and white vinegar, you'll need the following household objects (some of which you will need to dedicate to dyeing, and not use for food): plastic gloves, mask (if desired for safety), newspaper, plastic wrap, turkey baster or condiment bottles, plastic or glass containers and cups.
If purchased separately, the items in this kit would total around $30 plus shipping. I'm dedicated to helping you discover the wonderful world of dyeing wool, and am offering the kit for $22 plus shipping.
Just imagine all of the amazing and unique wool yarn you could create with this kit! Once you learn the basics, the possibilities are only limited by your imagination!
Note - due to popular demand and the love of trees, I've added an option so that you can receive the tutorial and pamphlet via PDF instead of on paper. The paper version is great for using while you're dyeing, but some people may prefer to receive a PDF for various reasons. If you select the PDF, it will be emailed to you within 24 hours, and the rest of the kit will ship via USPS.
Burgh Baby Gear is located in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. Canadians - please choose first class shipping option. For all other international orders, please email me for info.
