With the Big Boys Trainer PDF pattern you can sew an endless variety of trainers to take a little boy from the earliest stages of potty learning to real Big Boy underwear. Three snap options and three ‘stage’ options provide the ultimate versatility for any stage of potty learning. There are even instructions for hidden inner snaps so that there aren’t any annoying snaps touching the skin like other snapping trainers without sacrificing the ability to snap them off for easy clean-up. Stretchy sides allow even the Stage 1 waterproof trainers to be pulled up and down just like real underwear while maintaining a trim, boys brief-like fit. The brief style cut along with two different elastic/binding options provide the fit and appearance of real boys underwear. Five sizes, fits an approximate range of 16” to 22” waist (underbelly measurement) or 12-18mo to 5T. A wide variety of materials may be used depending on Stage and options, but stretchy fabric like interlock or rib knit is a must. Other materials may include waterproof PUL, non absorbent knit such as athletic wicking jersey, cotton interlock/jersey, resin snaps and snap press or pliers, and elastic (knit or fold over elastic). This PDF pattern is a 54 page document with 23 pages of instruction and graphics detailing all of the variations and options the pattern offers. Beginning sewers may learn new techniques like how to attach binding with elastic or sewing a flat felled seam. The clear graphics and captions will allow advanced sewers to breeze through the pattern without getting bogged down in the details. A Tips and Techniques section at the end includes additional pattern options, tips and detailed techniques. Each size is included in its own section without any overlapping pattern pieces so you can print and go without tracing or trying to follow nested pattern pieces. The PDF file pattern will be sent to the email address listed in your Paypal account within 24 hours (usually MUCH sooner). I’m currently working on setting up a certification/approval system for the sale of sewn trainers and undies.
